“I am a cotton-headed ninny-muggins!” Buddy the Elf said in director Jon Favreau’s comedy film, Elf.  Will Ferrell starred as the main character, Buddy the Elf, in this classic holiday movie created in 2003.

After growing up in the North Pole, Buddy begins to realize that he does not fit in with the rest of Santa’s elves. Standing at six feet and three inches tall and incapable of making toys at the speed elves should, Buddy decides to travel to New York to find his real dad. He soon discovers that the real world is nothing like the North Pole.

When he finally makes it to New York, Buddy goes to a toy store and fits right in with the workers who are also clad in elf suits. This scene is one of the most memorable as it shows Buddy’s love for Christmas. The manager of the store announces to the employees that “Santa” will be working the next day. Buddy did not hide his excitement.

“Santa! Oh my God! Santa’s coming! I know him! I know him!”

Throughout the movie other classic scenes like eating cereal with syrup and chewing gum off the railings in the city will be sure to make you double over with laughter.

Will Ferrell does an amazing job being the goofy “Buddy the Elf.” His comical acting skills are portrayed vividly as Buddy tries to build a relationship with his cynical, business-man of a father (James Caan).

Favreau did not fail to write a favorite holiday movie. Elf is a great film perfect for spending time with family or gathering with friends.
