Robotics

Team 365 X are Texas State Champions, Robotic Skills Challenge State Champions, and Excellence Award State Champions. They are still World Champions in Skills and broke the world record in high school and college. Team members are Tarun Gunampalli, Henry Liu, Anuj Jain, Jake Magee, and Justin Chae. Team 2019F won the Amaze Award  first in State and second in the Skills Challenge Award, and are third in state. Team members are Muneeb Asad, Aiden Childs, Garrett McGee, Carter Henry, Colin McKeen, and Saravan Narayanan. Team 14786 were first time competitors of FTC and Pride of 9th Center came in fourth place alliance at the FTC Championships. Team members are Hormuz Buhariwalla, Eric Cui, Aarush Das, Jacob Derendinger, Ritesh Kanchi, Ruthwik Kella, Gavin Maldanado, and Joseph Risberg. Team 2019 A were first time competitors and came in 14th. Team members are Vaibhav Gaddam, Justin Han, Rithvik Kalidindi, Smyan Kothapally, Jay Lee, Jiwon Lee, Christopher Mei, Soham Patel, Neel Sheth, and Adrian Wong. Team 14786 were first time competitiors of FTC and 9th Center Pride. Members are Hormuz Buhariwalla, Eric Cui, Aarush Das, Jacob Derendinger, Ritesh Kanchi, Ruthwik Kella, Gavin Maldanado, and Joseph Risberg.

DECA

Congratulations to DECA for their performance at State! We have four students that advanced to International DECA  CDC in April in their respective areas. Shobitha Dendukuri and Anshika Kondala in Buying and Merchandising Team. Jun Kwon in Quick Service Restaurant Management Series. And Nikhil Guddati in Business Finance Services. The following students are State runners up: Stephen Lampe and Katherine Nysetvold in Entrepreneurship Promotion Project, Samir Rahman in Financial Consulting, and Shivangi Agadi and Ashwin Seshan Murali in Hospitality Services Team. In addition to the great work, we had one 1st place for our “It Can Wait” video created by Meredith Miller. AT&T handpicked our video as the best and loved the message and school participation.

FCA

Globally Green

Did you know that Earth Day was founded in 1970 as a day of education about environmental issues? Globally Green is celebrating Earth Day and all things GREEN this year with special t-shirts. A table is set up during all lunches this week. Or come by room 2370 and sign up! But hurry because the ordering deadline is March 5!

Still haven’t had munch at the StrEATz & bEATz food truck?What are you waiting for? Don’t miss our famous chicken and waffle sandwich with sriracha maple syrup this week! We’ll be rolling our way to your school on Tuesday from 11:30 to 1:30 pm.

Adera Foundation

The Adera Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping kids in Africa. A student is collecting soccer cleats for the organization so that kids in Africa can play soccer in good shoes. If you have any old soccer cleats that you no longer use, please donate them in the clear tub out by the FM sign in the cafeteria. Sizes need to be 8-12 for boys and 6-10 for girls.

Prairie View A&M University College Tour

Are you interested in a college tour of Prairie View A&M University? If so, LISD is hosting a trip to the university on Saturday, April 13th. The cost is $60 per student–which includes transportation and meals. For more information and to pick up a permission form–please see Mrs. Easterling in Suite A by Friday, March 1st.

Parking Lot Violations

Only students with the correct sports parking complex hanging tags can park in the Tennis/Baseball/Softball parking lot. Consequences will be issued to anyone without the proper hang tag and/or proper decal sticker.
