AP Registration

Attention all students in AP classes. Please listen closely: Have you registered for the May AP tests? Regular registration is now through March 1st at 11:59 AM. Be careful when . You can always add tests later but you cannot get refunds for tests once you register for them. Read all instructions on the testing page carefully and only register for the tests you are sure you are going to take. Each test is $95 and you will pay online. The registration information can be found on the FMHS website under resources and then the link is under testing information and AP testing. See Mrs. Zinn in room 1460 if you have any questions about registration or testing.

Senior Exemptions

Attention Seniors, Monday, March 4th, you will be able to pick up your Senior exemption sheet for your nine weeks classes. Only nine week classes can be exempt for the third nine weeks. The exemption sheets must be returned no later than Wednesday, March 6, in order for you to be exempt. Absences will continue to count through March 8. Even though you are exempt, seniors are expected to be present. Please Contact your attendance clerk if you have any further questions.

FMHS Literary Magazine

Calling all writers! Submit your original creative writing for a chance to be included in Flower Mound’s online literary magazine, Et Cetera! See Ms. Lynch in room 1140 for details and a submission form. The deadline to submit is March 22nd.

Interact Club

Do you have old shoes that you never wear?  Interact Club has partnered with Soles4Souls to collect new and gently used shoes for people in poverty. If you have any shows that you want to get rid of, please bring them to one of our collection bins around the school. Thank you and have a great day Jags!

Volleyball Club

Volleyball Club practice tonight from 7:00-8:30. See you there.

Calculus Bowl

This past Friday, Will Cao, Anuj Jain, Rishi Kulkarni, Kaustub Navalady, Adi Ojha, and Katherine Shurtleff participated in the University of Texas at Arlington Calculus Bowl. After having the highest score in the preliminary round, they came up just short in the finals and finished in second place out of 26 teams.

35th Annual Teach Tomorrow Summit

The 35th Annual Teach Tomorrow summit was held this past weekend and the following students were recognized on stage for their achievements while there: Savannah Peterson and Lauren Bordelon-individual blue ribbons in Secondary Interactive Bulletin Board; Seyoung Choi and Chaeryn Yoon-team blue ribbon in Elementary Interactive Bulletin Board; Tessa Welch-silver certificate in Professional Portfolio; Seyoung Choi and Seohyun-blue ribbon in Teacher Created Materials event; Yenna Park, Savannah Peterson, Jenna Street, and Tessa Welch-team blue ribbon in Chapter Yearbook; Jenna Street and Tessa Welch-finalists in Ethical Dilemma; Lauren Bordelon-finalist in Impromptu Speaking; Yenna Park-Winner and National Qualifier in Exploring Education Support Service Careers. Also, Yenna Park was awarded the Texas Student of the Year! She received a !1,000 scholarship for this accomplishment. Congratulations to all of these future educators.

Theatre in Our Schools

Welcome to the first full week of Theatre in Our Schools month! Fun fact: Women were mot permitted to perform in public theatre until around 1660, so before that all female roles were played by men. Interesting! Stay tuned the rest of the week for facts and reminders!

Rosette Auditions

Love to dance and want to be part of an amazing, winning organization? There is a MANDATORY parent tryout meeting for Rosettes Drill Team on Tuesday, March 5th at 7:00 pm in the FMHS Cafeteria. If a parent is unable to attend, they must contact Ms. Elmore PRIOR to the meeting at [email protected]. Hope to see you there!

Young Republicans

The FMHS Young Republicans will be having a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:50 in Mr. Dilts room, 2200. Come by to find out about our upcoming opportunities!

We’ve got grilled cheese this week! Stop by the StrEATz & bEATz

Food truck for a bacon grilled cheese sandwich or a three-cheese melt. Ordering from the food truck is just like ordering in the cafeteria, just type in your student ID number and go! We’ll be rolling to your school on Tuesday from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Stay tuned for our new menu items after Spring Break, including an Asian Noodle Bowl, Chili Cheese Hot Dogs, and more!
