Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel released to theatres on March 8, 2019. The movie made $154 million on opening weekend, and the number continues to climb.

The movie takes place in 1955, set to take place before any other Marvel movie. The movie centers around a character named Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson. Her journey to discovering her past life that she had on Earth, is what the plot of the movie focuses on. In the beginning, Carol is known as Vers, and is part of a race of aliens called the Kree, who she knows as the people who nursed her back to health after an accident that caused her to lose all her memories. The Krees mission is to wipe out the Skrulls, a race of shapeshifting aliens, that Carol has been told are angry savages.

Through a series of unfortunate events, Carol ends up on earth, which triggers memories of the life she had there. She meets Nick Fury, a young S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, who still has both eyes, and the two embark on their mission to figure out what secrets have been kept from them and what is truly going on with the Kree and their hatred for the Skrulls.

The movie is packed with action and suspense, and once the truth is revealed about Carol’s identity and why her memory is lost, the entire movie makes sense. A viewer is hooked from the beginning, and with the amazing special effects and funny commentary it makes it difficult to tear one’s eyes away. And, in my opinion, Goose the cat is the best character in the entire movie.

Of course, you have to stay until the end to catch the little sneak peaks for the next Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame.
