They all came from different backgrounds, but were ready to educate. “I guess you could say it’s my dream to come work in Lewisville because its such a good district,” Bolitho said.

Spring Smells Like Football

With football season around the corner, the Jags Football team kicked it into high gear with a spring scrimmage.

Flower Mound hosted the game at the football stadium on May 30. The freshman and Junior Varsity teams played at 6 PM and Varsity played at 7 PM. Admission was free for all students, parents, and faculty.

The football game took place in order to get the Jags pumped up for this upcoming season, and it serves as extra practice.

We are improving a lot, and my expectations for the team are very high,” coach Mark Gillem said.

It’s no doubt that the school, and teachers, are ready for the football season to begin.

I love watching the Jags play,” sophomore Jeanna Marosy said. “My friends and I go to the game to see everyone and to cheer on the team, and it’s my favorite time of year.”

Last year, FMHS received a new head football coach. With last season in the past, the coaches have a better feel on how to approach making the team even better, and how to strategically set high goals for the Jags.

I feel that our goal for last season was to establish new philosophies on and off the field,” coach Christopher Gage said. “With a new head coach and several new assistant coaches, there was a major transition in how we ran our offense and defense. During this off-season, we pushed the players through the hardest conditioning and weight lifting most of them have ever experienced.”

The coaches work constantly to help the Jags become better team players, making them lift and condition in the off-season. The coaches continue to push them to the max to help them become better people and players.

I think we had a good spring where many young players had a chance to mature and take proper steps to have a successful year next year,” head coach Dane Johnson said. “I am looking forward to next year and seeing the progress these kids have made through the off-season.”

FMHS is excited to start the next school year with a high-spirited football team.
