The Art Club hosted a fundraiser to help make bowls for the North Texas Food Bank’s annual luncheon, sponsored by Tom Thumb. To participate in the fundraiser, students entered to win either a mum or garter.
By paying $1, each student received a raffle ticket placed in the jar of their choosing: each designated for different premade garters or mums. Students also had the chance to enter in both categories, meaning students had the ability to win both a garter and a mum.
The Art Club, in return, used the money earned through the fundraising raffle to buy supplies for the handcrafted bowls. These were given away as gifts at the NTFB’s annual luncheon. Each art student was assigned a bowl to make for each guest. Proceeds from the NTFB’s luncheon were collected and donated to the food pantry.
Mrs. Michelle Harper, one of Flower Mound’s art teachers, will be drawing the names for the mum and garter on Monday after all lunch blocks. The students who win the mum or garter will be surprised with it in their fourth period class.
