On November 9, the 14th annual LISD Veterans Day Ceremony will be held at Timber Creek Elementary school.
The school board is sponsoring the ceremony and recognition breakfast for local veterans and their families at 9:30 a.m. The breakfast will be followed by a ceremony at 10:30 a.m.
After raising flags at feeder schools, Junior ROTC members from all five high schools will serve breakfast to local veterans.
The five JROTC units will then assemble together in military formation to pay respects to the area veterans at the community commemoration.
The commanding cadet from each unit will provide remarks to honor the veterans. The FMHS group commander, Deputy Group Commander Sander de Man, will lead the unit as well as provide additional remarks.
