Lewisville Independent School District will be hosting flu vaccination clinics at various LISD high schools.
As flu season has begun, many serious cases of the flu have been reported.
Vaccinations will assist in preventing the flu by building immunity to a certain strain. While it is possible to become sick with another strain, the vaccine can provide some relief from flu-related complications.
It is important to get a flu vaccination every year since flu viruses differ every year. The flu vaccine is created yearly to protect against the most common strains of the year. (cdc.gov).
The charge for the flu shot is $5 and checks can be made out to North Texas Flu Shots. Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Aetna PPO insurance plans will be accepted and will fully cover the price.
Clinics will be held from 4-7 P.M. Children under 18 must be assisted by an adult.
