Construction of the new 9th grade campus, sports complex, arena and indoor practice facility continues, and construction crews make progress every day.
Although parking in the southern lot has been cramped, the school has asked the construction crew to free up 40 to 50 spots in order to make room for students.
The north teacher parking lot is being expanded due to the placement of the 9th grade campus over the previous teacher parking. Completion of the parking lot is expected in about two weeks.
Construction workers have closed the sidewalk entrance to the campus from the Wellington neighborhood. Students must take a route around the southern edge of the practice fields and under the bleachers of the football stadium to reach the school or parking lot.
On May 1, demolition of the baseball field and tennis courts will begin. Due to the construction, students walking to and from the south parking lot must detour under the football stadium’s bleachers.
The administration asks students to have patience and obey any signs posted on doors and fences. Construction is off to a great start and the much-needed 9th grade campus, as well as the brand new sports complex, will greatly improve the quality of the school.
