The annual FMHS Art Show, sponsored by Art Club, is back for another year.
The art show accepts work from all students, regardless of whether they have ever attended an art class. Each student may submit a maximum of three artworks to the competition.
All entries must be matted and ready to hang. The six categories for artwork submissions are photography, drawing, sculpture, painting, ceramics, and 2D mixed media. To qualify, the art piece must be original and completed in the last year. They must also have an attached entry label found on the back of the art show brochures, which are available at one of the many posters around the school.
Submissions are accepted in front of the library before and after school on May 23rd, as well as before school, after school, and during all lunches on Friday, May 24th. All artwork must be handed in by 4:00 PM on Friday in order to be eligible.
On May 28th, from 5-6:30 PM, the pieces will be judged at a reception in the library. During this time, the judges announce awards for the winning artworks.
The winning pieces will be displayed during the second to last week of school in the library. The three winners selected from each category will receive a bag of art supplies.
