‘Twas the Night Before Starbucks
December 13, 2013
Once upon a time in a land of Venti Cappuccinos and Grande Espressos, there were four little drinks called the Holiday Drinks.
There was the Gingerbread Latte, Eggnog Latte, Caramel Brulée, and the littlest drink of all, the Peppermint Mocha. These four drinks stayed happily in the mystical land of Starbucks until the day that they were bought by Andrea and Michael.
Michael had a sip of the Gingerbread Latte. His tummy wasn’t grumbly anymore after he indulged in the incredibly sweet and sacchariferous drink. The spiced whipped cream and molasses drizzled over the top highlighted the drink. He was tickled by the sugar dancing through his veins. Some say that his blood sugar rose three levels that day.
Andrea’s first beverage was the Eggnog Latte. With a whopping 48 grams of sugar and 53 grams of carbohydrates, it was sure to give her a holiday rush. The taste was that of a million butterflies billowing in her stomach. The sprinkle of nutmeg spryly sprung across her tongue and made the treat complete.
Andrea also guzzled down a nice Caramel Brûlée Latte. Espresso, steamed milk, and a rich and creamy Caramel Brûlée sauce had been mixed to create a wondrous product. The crushed candy garnish was an exquisite addition to the already festive drink.
Last, but certainly not least, was the delectable Peppermint Mocha. This delicious refreshment was a little bit mocha with a lotta bit peppermint. It practically screamed ‘winter’ with every sip! Michael was certain the drink was not naughty, but nice.
So as Andrea and Michael ventured home on their sleds, visions of Starbucks drinks danced in their heads, and on the way they chortled with glee, “Merry Christmas to all, and enjoy your coffee!”
