Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent
November 17, 2014
High school athletes dedicate their whole life to their sport, spending their lives working towards that one goal of playing at the next level, and on Wednesday, November 12, sixteen Jaguar athletes signed their National Letters of Intent and committed to playing at the collegiate level.
The day started with baseball. The home of last year’s state champions had a total of six players sign their NLI’s. Seniors Noah Hill and Casey Jacobsen signed to Brigham Young University, Sean Wymer signed to Texas Christian University, Deron Arnold signed to Stephen F. Austin, Ethan Daily signed to Southern Arkansas, and Jameson Hannah signed to Dallas Baptist University.
“It was an honor to sign with these great guys that I’ve played with for the past couple years,” Noah said. “It’s a relief to know where I’m going and to know all the hard work and sacrifice paid off.”
Cheerleading and swimming programs were also represented by athletes. Senior cheerleader Bailey Hollier signed for acrobatics and tumbling to Baylor University while senior swimmer McKenzie Murphy signed to Lindenwood University.
The district champion volleyball team had three senior signees. Mikayla Grill signed to St. Edward’s University, Molly Werts signed to Loyola University Maryland, and Hailey Morin signed to Texas Christian University.
“Signing day felt like years of hard work wrapped up in one signature,” Hailey said. “It was such a surreal feeling.”
Lastly, softball had four athletes sign NLI’s. Seniors Jaclyn Kresta signed to Navarro Junior College, Mauri Jamele signed to Wichita State, Chandler Goldman signed to Incarnate Word University, and Annelise Oswalt signed to Texas Tech University.
Family, friends, coaches and other supporters were able to come out and support their favorite athletes take this next step in their lives at ceremonies for each sport. Now, Flower Mound just wishes the best of luck to all signees and is excited to see how they will represent Jaguar Nation in the future.
