A Moment of Silence for Coppell
October 18, 2012
A loved and valued player for the Coppell High School football team went missing this weekend at Possum Kingdom Lake. Jacob Logan, a wide receiver, went cliff diving and never resurfaced.
Logan was just hanging out with some friends and teammates Sunday at Possum Kingdom Lake when tragedy struck.
Logan jumped off a cliff without a life vest, feet first. He resurfaced once then he fell back underwater. A dive team and high-tech sonar equipment have been searching for him since the accident that happened around 2 p.m. Sunday.
The FMHS Student Council put together a box labeled with “Prayers, Thoughts for Coppell”. Students can fill out slips of paper for the parents of the Coppell students. When all the slips of paper are collected, Student Council members will make a big poster to give to the parents after the game.
They will also be handing out navy blue ribbons to put in your hair for the game in honor of Coppell.
On Friday’s game at Flower Mound Stadium athletes and fans will participate in a moment of silence before the game in remembrance of Logan.
Logan was scheduled to start this week’s game against FMHS. The official Coppell High School Football Team Twitter says, “All Coppell teams will certainly be playing with heavy hearts this week in remembrance of Jacob Logan.”
