The West Zone 5K Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, October 28th at and will take place at the Forestwood Middle School trails. The 5K is a fundraiser to purchase iPads for Flower Mound and Marcus high schools and all of their feeder schools.
“In order to incorporate more technology for our schools, we are using this as an opportunity to raise money,” assistant principal Dr. Dave Watson said. Dr.Watson is in charge of this fundraiser for FMHS, along with Principal Sonya Lail.
Anyone can participate in the West Zone 5K, either by donating or by taking part in the race. If teachers donate money, they may wear jeans to school during the week of October 15th. Students who participated in FMHS Hat Day at on October 6th also raised a grand total of $475 for the fundraiser.
So far, 48 people from FMHS have signed up to participate in the race against the 50 representing Marcus.
Participants may park at the high schools where they will take a shuttle bus to the Forestwood Middle School trails. The race starts at 2 p.m.
