They all came from different backgrounds, but were ready to educate. “I guess you could say it’s my dream to come work in Lewisville because its such a good district,” Bolitho said.

FMHS Students Win Rotary Club Award

The Flower Mound Rotary Club, a group of local business leaders, presented the Exceptional Student of the Month award to seniors Nika Rauch and Phillip Larsen in mid-October and November.

Both students were given the award during a luncheon on the first of November.

During the luncheon, Rauch put on a display of courage by speaking in front of thirty-plus business owners about how ecstatic she was about getting the award.

“The Rotary Club president talked about how Nika was in Teen Leadership, then shortly after Nika surprised everyone by talking in front of everybody about how she got the award,” Circle of Friends advisor Julie foreman said.

Following the speech by Rauch, the award winners got to celebrate over some Salerno’s.

“We got to eat after I won the award,” Rauch said. “It was very nice.”

Rauch and Larsen received this award for their outstanding behavior towards others as well as their ability to strive for success.

“I am excited to win an award, but I could not have done it without Nika,” Larsen said. “She helped me believe and achieve.”

Although Rauch and Larsen were the two to win the Exceptional Student of the Month award, other members of Circle of Friends will have their opportunity to receive the award as well. As these two continue to serve society, they will also be setting an example for everyone affected by the work of the Rotary Club.

“When we help people we always have to have these questions in our memory: is it fair to all concerned, is it the truth, and will it build goodwill and better friendship with one another,” Larsen said.
