All-State Choir

On January 11, students from Flower Mound High School participated in the Texas All-State Choir competition at Abilene Cooper High School. The students representing FMHS include sophomores May Ary, Alex Urrutia, and Henrik Zetterstrom; juniors Emma Elston, Jake Hansen, and Frances Jimenez; and seniors Ben Hladky, Haley McNeese, Addison Pattillo, and Jordan Sloan. This group auditioned to be a part of the thousands of singers to participate in the choir each year. FMHS competed against over 50 schools, singing “Misericordias Domini” by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “Ich aber bin eland” by Johannes Brahms, and “Himne” by Roelof Timmingh. Each year in the past, FMHS has had students advance to the Texas All State choir. Last year in the 2011-2012 competition, six students from FMHS became a part of the choir. The advanced treble choir teacher, Dr. Mark Rohwer, and the competing choir members are optimistic to have another successful year in the competition.
