Freshman Jag Football – Game Week

Bobby Soto, J1 Guest Writer

The freshman Navy football team at Flower Mound currently have three wins and one loss preparing for a huge rivalry game against Marcus Marauders.
Practice will feel different for them, as they will most likely practice with more intensity than ever. On Monday, the players arrived at 7:15 ready to go. Everyone practicing knows how big this game is. Everyone was practicing with more intensity. This was the first of four times they’ll get to play against their crosstown rivals. Tuesday was weight day. Practice started a bit early at 6:40. After both practices the coaches told them to not get involved with smack talking or any outside noise involving the game.
On Wednesday was the final full pad practice before the game. The energy was high and loud. Practice came and went. At around 9:30, Coach Basil talked about how he wants to win as bad just as every other game.
With Thursday approaching, the main focus will be to establish the run early and be the more physical team. They play at 7 at Neal E. Wilson stadium. As always, Go Jags!
