The Duel in the Pool

The Swim and Dive team is undefeated this year and on Tuesday, November 17 at the Timbercreek Natatorium, they will be challenged by their nemesis Marcus High School in the annual Duel in The Pool.

“I’m really excited about it this year because I was in it last year, and I had fun beating Marcus, so I hope to beat them again this year,” sophomore Dylan Tetelman said.

The coaches want all athletes to report to the pool by 4:oo p.m., and the event will start at 5:30 p.m.

“We want our athletes to be prepared and ready for this one because it should be a good one,” head swim coach Dan Snow said.

Last year the Jaguars beat the Marauders in this match-up and the swimmers appear to be determined to have the same results this year.

“I just look at it as we need to stay undefeated, and Marcus is the team in the way, so I’m excited to protect our record against our rivals,” Tetelman said.

Flower Mound is fighting for a district championship this year, but they won’t overlook any opponent, especially Marcus.

“We had fun winning last year, but i know that Marcus will go into this game trying to break our record and get revenge for last year. We can’t let that happen. We must stay focused about the number one goal: to beat Marcus,” Tetelman said.

Both teams have only one goal on their minds, and that is to win the district championship, but they must get by this emotional rivalry for the heart of Flower Mound.
