Going on a normal school week, students greatly expected spring break. No one predicted or anticipated the perilous situation that was coming; No one knows how to stop it. It came like a thief in the night. And is like a cunning wolf in sheep’s clothing. The name of this wolf is the Coronavirus. Otherwise known as COVID-19 it is impersonating itself as a harmless flu-like virus. It was underestimated, and took that as an opportunity to spread. And now has claimed thousands of lives and jobs. It single-handedly put the world economy in jeopardy. No country, no ethnicity, and no status is spared from its rampage.

The instructions given from the CDC have shown that the only way to prevent the spread of this beast is to wash our hands. As simple as it sounds, that is how close we have come to a cure. Many blame China among other places as well, so I asked myself, is it possible that if people just washed their hands daily, stayed clean, and maintained a clean environment this could have been prevented? Who knows, but I believe that the cause of the virus is due to centuries worth of biodegradable waste being left unchecked.Humans now buy a million plastic bottles a minute. Most of this plastic ends up in the ocean. By 2050, the ocean will contain more plastic by weight than fish.

After this virus is over, many will continue to go back to their bad habits and it will make a strong comeback. So we need to be careful. Wash your hands, keep six feet apart. For the sake of your family and for the sake of those around you.
