Bracket Tackles Dress Code Rumors

Lately there has been controversy among students and teachers as to whether or not the school district will be changing the dress code. Assistant Principal Joseph Bracket confirms these rumors.

“All high schools are going to a more common dress code across the district,” Bracket said. “There were some discrepancies between campuses on what was acceptable for students to wear and what wasn’t. Therefore, there was a committee put together that looked at the different dress codes from various campuses in LISD, and they came up with one universal and clear dress code that the school board will be finalizing soon.”

Students have different opinions on how they feel about the dress code change.

“This change makes sense because we’re all in the same school system,” sophomore Nick Lester said. “We’re technically supposed to have the same academic standards since we’re in the same district, so I feel like it should show through the dress as well.”

The dress code changes have not been finalized, but are soon to come. Whether or not the dress code will be more lenient or not, students will be sure to have opinions in the future.
