Women in the U.S. are Paid Less than Men

Priyanka Manthuruthil, Editorial Writer

Women in the United States are paid less than men every single day. They should be paid equally as men, they work at the same amount of time each day even, if they are divorced, married, or even a single parent. Everyone needs to be paid equally regardless of their gender or ethnicity.

Women should be paid more, they work a lot, even when they are at their own house. Women who don’t have husbands, and who are raising children on their own, should be paid more. They have to worry about bills, taxes, and college fees. Many women do not get enough sleep each day, they have things that have to be done around the house, when they come back in the afternoon or night. Women  who don’t have a husband, are stressed to pay everything and have to pay for everything and take care of their children.

Women are not paid equally as men. It does not matter, if they are from a lower class or higher class. We are all human beings who deserve the same rights. Even today, they have still have the Equal Rights Law, but women are still not paid equally. The law doesn’t do anything to change that.
