Chenyi Wu, Executive Editor-in-Chief and Secondary Poetry and Fiction Editor
A steadfast believer in the power of words, Chenyi Wu steps into her third year on staff as the FM Wire’s Executive Editor-in-Chief and Secondary Poetry and Fiction Editor. A passionate journalist with an eye for both the big picture and the smallest detail, Chenyi sees journalism as a tool capable of shaping opinions, sparking conversations, and even influencing entire generations. With her sharp editorial eye, she hopes to expand the paper’s reach, transforming it into a publication that is not only widely recognized but also deeply resonant with its readers.
While her dream job would be writing for The Wall Street Journal, Chenyi’s talents stretch beyond the newsroom. She’s a lover of poetry, inspired by the works of Ocean Vuong, and she’s determined to expand the newspaper’s reach by making it more engaging, widely recognized, and impactful. She dreams of one day living in New York’s cozy Greenwich Village, perhaps with a plate of Chinese food nearby, while still chasing stories that matter.
This year, she’s focused on bringing the FM Wire to new heights, ensuring that every piece reflects the thought, precision, and heart that journalism demands. With plans to study law after high school, Chenyi blends ambition with artistry, writing as if every piece could be the one to spark change, as her dedication to storytelling will always be part of who she is.
Chenyi is a senior, and this is her third year with the FM Wire.
