Market Street, a new supermarket in Flower Mound, has completed construction at the northeast corner of FM 1171 and FM 2499 and celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday December 11.

The store is distinctly unique from it’s sister stores in the DFW area. Aside from being smaller than other Market Street locations, only 55,000 square feet, it exhibits an entirely new interior as well.

Leon Holloway, a manager of the store, has been supervising his portion of the construction for several months while preparing it for the grand opening.

“Market Street has taken on an entirely new design from other grocery stores,” Holloway said. “It presents more modern embellishments that provides grocery shoppers with a richer shopping experience.”

The entrance to the market flushes shoppers with a pine and wintry fragrance, as if welcoming guests to the season’s tidings. Colorful bouquets of flowers are lined neatly against the wall, bringing with them an engaging feast for the eyes. These are only a few of the specific touches that characterize the new Market Street.

The supermarket chain has hired for all positions from bakers and floral designers to stockers and cashiers in its two-week job fair that ended on November 8. As many as 300 new jobs have been brought to Flower Mound because of the new chain-store.

Several students from Flower Mound High have been hired to work in the supermarket as well. Ellen Warner, a junior and recent employee of Market Street, comments on it’s exquisite layout.

“The dining area that I work in is what attracts my attention,” Ellen said. “There’s a coffee shop, a sushi bar, and a hot bar, which I’ve never seen in most other grocery stores.”

Ellen touches on an additional topic concerning Market Street—customer service.

“Store employees treat their customers with high service standards,” Ellen said. “They carry your groceries for you without you having to ask for help. All the employees are kind and inviting.”

With all changes that set the new store apart from the crowd, from it’s exquisite designs and choice groceries to it’s customer service, Market Street is guaranteed a long-lasting success that is well worth its cost.
