Lady Jags on Top of Their Game

The Lady Jags of Flower Mound High School’s varsity basketball team played in their first preseason tournament on November 8th through the 10th. They won 5 out of the 6 games.

The tournament’s top scorers were senior Ashley Deary with an outstanding 104 points, freshmen Lauren Cox with 38, and freshmen Marin Mills with 34.

“It feels great to know that I made varsity as a freshman, and was one of the top scorers of the tournament,” Mills said. “I truly learn a lot from playing basketball with the older girls.”

With 192 rebounds, 78 assists and 99 steals, the Lady Jags started the season off strong.

“One thing the team and I really need to work on is constantly rebounding on offense and defense, but I feel we have had an excellent start.” Deary said. “We have tremendous potential for further improvement.”

With scores like those in the tournament, the Lady Jags have begun the season admirably. In regular season games the team is 2-0, and they expect to have a superior season this year.
