Jaguars Fight Marauders in Difficult Loss

This week, the Flower Mound Jaguar Varsity tennis team played their longtime rivals, the Marcus Marauders. Tensions were high as Marcus walked away with a 13-6 win.

“We need to put away those tiebreakers when we get in them,” head coach Brad Wikse said. “Too many matches have been lost because we couldn’t win the set points or take control of the tiebreakers.”

With the loss, the Jaguars are now 3-2 in the district and will be the third ranked team in the district tournament next week.

“I have high hopes for our team in the district tournament; we’ll see Marcus again, and this time we’ll beat them,” coach Wikse said.

In the district tournament, Flower Mound will either play Lewisville or Denton Ryan again; if they win that match, they will face Marcus again at Marcus High School.
